Take a Breather!
The end of Quarter 3 is a stressful time for students. Often, they have not had a long break from their studies and school work since the Winter Holidays. They are tired, overwhelmed and ready to go outside in the warming weather to PLAY! This is totally relatable as we all find ourselves daydreaming out the window, ready to escape the world of laptops to enjoy our friends and family.
As the seemingly endless marathon towards the end of Quarter 3 has come to an end, it is important that we allow our students (and ourselves) a moment to breathe!
Remember, rest and relaxation are a part of the important process towards growth and self-development. Just like any physical workout routine highlights a rest day for your muscles, an emotional/mental rest day should be a part of the journey, too!
As you enjoy your Spring Break, or are returning back to school/work, be sure to set some boundaries for yourself and your student so that you can truly allow your brain to reset before the final countdown towards summer. Here are some quick ways to ensure a brain break for you and/or your student:
Leave the laptop at home- the work can wait a few more hours ;)
Use the ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature on iPhone- especially on weekends or holidays
Get outside!
Cook/order-in your favorite meal
Enjoy a 1:1 experience with someone you love face-to-face
Watch your favorite movie
Sleep in!
Whatever it is that allows you or your student to feel rested, do that! You will be stronger and more ready to embark on Quarter 4 together.
