No-Fail Test Taking Strategies
Be Prepared & Make a plan
Effective test prep strategies start before the test even begins! Make a study plan in advance, chunking your studying into smaller pieces through the week leading up to your test will help you manage not just your time, but your stress levels. Planning out and being intentional about what you are studying each day will also help keep you focused and more efficient as you study.
Assess your confidence
For a lot of us when we start studying we don’t ever take time to pause and actually assess what we already know and how comfortable we are with the material. Taking a few minutes before you make your study plan to assess your confidence with the different sections of your studying will help you make a more efficient study plan. For sections of your studying that you are not as comfortable with yet, prioritize those sections first and make sure you come back to them to review more frequently throughout your studying.
Post Exam Review
After finishing your test, take a few moments to assess how you feel. Is what you study on the test? Did you feel confident in your answers? Taking a pause to reflect will help you adjust your test taking strategies and systems to help you become more effective the next time you prepare for a test!
