4 Ways to Study Wisely

Are you sitting at your desk thinking,”I don’t know how to study?” Don’t fear, we’ve got you covered! Fortunately, there are plenty of study strategies that can be very effective in preparation for any upcoming exam.

  1. Incorporate ACTIVE study strategies in your study plan

Examples include: creating an outline, re-writing your notes, completing a practice test in a test-like setting, creating flashcards & recording yourself teaching/reciting course material out loud

  2. Space out your studying over short periods of time

Study course material every day. Try for 45 minute study sessions with 10-15 minute breaks in between. This study method will help increase your retention of the material & stave off procrastination - shorter, more active study sessions will be the most effective!

  3. Create the most productive study space for yourself

Your way of studying may not be the same as your friend or classmate! If an environment starts to be too distracting or causes you to begin procrastinating, change it immediately!

  4. Determine your most optimal time to study

For some people, it could be in the evening, while for others, morning may be the most ideal time. Whenever the best time is for you, ensure that you are at your best state to absorb information and think critically.
